"Sideways Parallel"

Is it possible to discern “real/not real”?  This is the essence of abstraction.  Without a “real” something to see, the abstract work leads to contemplation, discovery and original thought. 

Viewer and artist hope to find a way though the picture. But after a time, the beauty of abstraction is not to find your way, but instead to find the joy of getting lost.

Much of my work is based on the perceptual landscape, transcribing both the organic and the geometric found in nature. Using my own filters of memory, sensory experiences and artistic interpretation, I build layer after layer until compositions collide and hang in a delicate balance dangling and hinting at unexpected outcomes.  Dissonance is intentional and is explored through infinite variations..
